Stanley Klett, Sr. was a tremendous light for child victims and a force for child advocacy in Palm Beach County. After working as an engineer for Xerox in New York for 30 years, Mr. Klett retired, making South Florida his home. His heart to give back and do for those less fortunate lead him to serve as a Guardian ad Litem in Palm Beach County. and on the board of Friends of Abused Children, he inspired his son, Stanley Klett Jr., to volunteer his time. His name remains imprinted on the history of Guardian ad Litem-centered advocacy in that his focus remained on enhancing the lives of children involved in Palm Beach County foster and dependency cases.
Stanley Klett, Sr. passed away in 2009 after serving as a Guardian ad Litem for 20 years, speaking up for well over 100 children and making an immeasurable generational impact on an unknown number of lives. Mr. Klett remained one of the most active guaridans until his passing.
The almost two-decades-long Winterfest Carnival, a holiday party for child victims, memorializes his legacy. This event evolved from a party to give bicycles to children in foster care to an entire carnival with an annual attendance of nearly 200 children in care with participation remaining complimentary due to donations from sponsors in keeping with Stanley Klett, Sr.’s vision.
Stanley Klett, Jr. continued his father’s blueprint for advocacy, served as Vice President of Friends of Abused Children, and includes his children in advocacy efforts by providing them opportunities to recognize the importance of giving back.
